I’ve just had a phone call from Peter where we partly discussed his plans for the future of the Swan Rescue service that (mainly) he provides. In spite of the announcement last year, Peter has remained active in swan rescue, partly because he is so well known to other organisations like local councils and the police, who tend to have his number and call him on when a swan rescue is required.
So, never one to deny the inevitable, Peter has asked me to update the website again to reflect the new reality. I hope that I don’t upset anyone with any of my revelations here!
Peter has decided that his personal mobile phone number (07802 472788) can go back, and he will continue some association with swan rescue operations. This may be in the form of advice, suggestions for other useful contacts, or even the occasional swan rescue.
As a relative youngster on the team (I hit a mere 70 years young next month), I believe that I’m about 10 years younger than Peter, and I’m about 18 years younger than Ellen, who now has significant mobility issues. So my amazement at their energy and devotion knows no bounds, as the cliche goes!
